Propel Physiotherapy uses the KeeogoTM assistive device for walking to effectively help address the unique mobility and gait issues some of our clients face in the community and at home. The evidence-based technology is improving the independence of our clients.

We perform assessments in-clinic, which include a fitting and customization of the device. KeeogoTM is then used in conjunction with physiotherapy sessions as a therapeutic mobility device to assist the client with focusing on different aspects of their therapy and enable the client to try task-oriented activities they would not be able to perform without this kind of assistance.

KeeogoTM is the first product in the class of Dermoskeletons. The new powered device is designed to help individuals with mobility related challenges that limit their ability to participate in daily activities such as walking, climbing or descending stairs, sitting down or standing up. It is used by individuals with spinal cord injury, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, arthritis, brain injury and stroke.

Julia, a University School student in Hamilton, Ontario, sustained a stroke in 2013, which affected her mobility on the left side of her body resulting in limitations to daily activities. In this video, Julia explains how wearing the KeeogoTM walking assistant developed by B-TEMIA provides her with significant independence in her daily life, and enables her to do things like dance, climb stairs, work in a laboratory, and do without her walker or cane.

To use the device, you need to be able to initiate basic mobility movements, walk a short distance with or without an assistance device, and have sufficient balance. It is used by individuals with spinal cord injury, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, arthritis, brain injury and stroke.

Take the first step towards better mobility. Ask any of our physiotherapists for more information about our the KeeogoTM walking assistant.
