Registered Physiotherapist at Propel Physiotherapy

Kathy Mileski loves the idea of helping others be as mobile and active as they possibly can. As someone who enjoys nature and playing sports with her kids, she considers physiotherapy the best job in the world. Each day, she helps clients with stroke, spinal cord injury and brain injury get back to what they enjoy doing.

She completed her masters of science in physical therapy at the University of Toronto in 2003. Her approach focuses on translating what happens in the clinic into her clients’ daily lives.
Kathy believes that every person has the potential to do amazing things. That belief bolstered by her training and experience has helped her clients to achieve success in their rehab goals no matter where they are in terms of their recovery.

She also thinks that when you look at a person as a whole and are open to the idea that different approaches might work best for different clients, you improve the likelihood of positive outcomes. To that end, Kathy has incorporated mindfulness based practice and teachings into her work in recent years. She calls it a powerful, yet often untapped, tool in every person’s possession capable of transforming lives. It changes the way her clients think about their health and their ability to impact their own health.

She received her mindfulness training through Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Kathy now provides group and individual mindfulness training for clients and clinicians. She has also enhanced her post graduate training through courses in the Bobath concept, certification through the Acupuncture of Canada Foundation Institute, manual therapy and therapeutic taping.

In addition to working at Propel Physiotherapy, Kathy is a clinical instructor. She heads professional development initiatives and acting as professional practice leader.
