Certified Exercise Physiologist at Propel Physiotherapy
Martha Garrick is passionate about helping her clients achieve their health and rehabilitation goals. She believes that by becoming more efficient in our day to day movements, we can significantly improve their quality of life. To achieve this, she helps people to increase overall strength and coordination and to incorporate regular exercise into their lifestyle.
Growing up Martha always has a love of sports. She was either an avid fan or was trying her hand at participating in them. It was a natural progression to pursue her interest in sports through the study of kinesiology and health science.
Martha obtained her Bachelors of Honours in Kinesiology and Health Science at York University. She is also a member of the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiologists as a Certified Exercise Physiologist. She has been involved with occupational job standard testing and the assessment of high performance athletes. Martha is also interested in chronic disease management, functional training, core training, and pre & post-operative training.
The innovations in therapeutic applications and exercise techniques are exciting to Martha because it provides alternatives for the type of training and counselling that may be prescribed to each individual. When a client is able to gain back mobility or improve the mobility they have, it’s the greatest feeling in the world for her to know that she was able to help them.

In her spare time, Martha has taken up woodworking. She feels a sense of accomplishment from making or transforming something with her hands.
