Due to recent growth, we’re looking for a new Registered Massage Therapist to help even more people feel, work, and live better.

The Role

This is a private contract position, with part-time hours to start and flexible scheduling according to your availability. You’ll start with around 25 hours per week, with potential for full time hours after a probationary period. Because you’re a private contractor and will earn fee for service, you’ll make $60-65 per hour. After probation, contracts are typically 12 months long with opportunities for renewal. You’ll have opportunities for professional development, and massage supplies will be available to you.

In this role, you’ll be joining a diverse team of professionals to provide full-service care to our clients. You’ll get referrals from other professionals and will be responsible for conducting assessments and determining a custom, appropriate treatment plan.

We specialize in major injury rehab, which is why we’ve brought together a range of professionals from different fields. You’ll be doing more than working in your room with clients one-on-one; you’ll be communicating and collaborating with others to provide the best possible care. In addition, you will be integral to the team dynamic that we value so much at Propel Physiotherapy.

Practically speaking, you will:

• Assess scope of client needs, communicating and referring with other team members as necessary to provide an appropriate course of treatment
• Provide massage therapy treatments to clients, typically during 45 minute or 1-hour sessions
• Maintain a professional workspace by ensuring rooms are cleaned and prepared after each client
• Bring in your skillset, massage therapy techniques, modalities, and strengths to improve client care (e.g., cupping, acupuncture, hot stone, athletic taping)
• Participate in education sessions and collaborate with team members
• Carry out duties pertaining to the College of Massage Therapists
• Review insurance/client paperwork for consistency and report any anomalies to the administrative team

Because of our emphasis on client-centered treatments, you’ll need to be a critical thinker who can provide traditional massage therapy techniques and apply them creatively and effectively. Different clients need different things; you’ll need to be able to move beyond easy solutions and develop a course of action that is suitable for your client. Though you’ll have autonomy, you’ll also have support when you need it, and mentorship opportunities.

Qualifications

We are considering experienced or new graduate RMT’s as well as recent graduates with their RMT designation. Here’s what we’re looking for:

• Experience with or knowledge of assessing clients and developing treatment plans
• Experience working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
• Registered as a Massage Therapist, and a member of and in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario
• Experience in a customer/client-facing role
• Independent/private insurance as a practicing RMT, or willingness to obtain this
• Professional experience in massage therapy would be an asset but is not required
• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle would be an asset
